FAQ

Here are some answers to Frequently Asked Questions.

What age groups do you cater to?

We have Pee Wee classes ages 3 and 4 years old.

Hip Hop Kidz 1 beginner/intermediate classes ages 5-9 years old and beginner/intermediate pre teen/teen classes ages 10-17.

We also have some of the top dance crews in the country:

Performance Troupe ages 5-9 years old

Mini Crew ages 6-11 years old

Broward Production Co. ages 10-16

Dade Production Co. ages 10-16

Dade Crew (Our highest level crew) ages 12-19 years old

What dance styles do you teach?

Hip Hop Kidz specializes in very current, on-trend NY/LA style of hip hop dance. Unlike traditional dance studios, you do not have to take other styles of dance to be enrolled in our classes.

We teach a variety of awesome hip hop styles: old school, new school, break dancing, locking, popping, tutting, and more!

Who are your instructors?

Our staff is comprised of the best of the best in hip hop dance! We have both male and female specialists and choreographers who love teaching our students to bring music and out the best in their abilities. We are known for our incredible breakdown style and unique teaching vocabulary.

Do you offer performance opportunities?

Once our students move to our crew levels, they have the opportunity to perform at many local and national venues building resumes a mile long.

What does my child/teen wear to Hip Hop Kidz classes?

We encourage our students to  wear comfortable clothes and sneakers, and bring a large water bottle. Typically our students wear the following: comfortable shorts, leggings, or joggers and a loose, comfortable tee shirt or sweatshirt, supportive sneakers with socks. Until a child/teen reaches our professional crew level there is no formal dance uniform required.

Are parents allowed to view classes?

We have a much different philosophy than many dance studios. We love for our parents to see the progress of their dancer and the value of their investment, as well as why their kids/teens love our program!
At the end of every class, parents are invited to come in for the last 10 minutes to take pictures and videotape. Some of our studios have glass doors and viewing windows, so parents may watch classes from the window. We highly encourage that they watch without distracting their child, allowing the student and teacher to bond. We want to create a space for the dancers to learn, grow and engage in a focused way.

How do I register for classes?

To register for our classes, please call our corporate office 305-305-0076.

We accept Visa, Mastercard or Discover.

All parents register over the phone and will receive a receipt via text and email. In addition, parents sign our DocuSign package consisting of a release of liability, policies and procedures form, and a health form.

What safety measures do you have in place?

Hip Hop Kidz has certain measures in place to ensure the well-being of our dancers.

These measures include:

1. Qualified instructors who have expertise in hip hop dance. Our instructors are trained to teach proper techniques for each age group.

2. Safe Flooring: Our dance studios have specialized dance floors designed to provide shock absorption and reduce the impact on our dancers’ joints.

3. Mirrors: Large mirrors on the walls allow dancers to monitor their form and technique, helping them avoid potential errors and injuries.

4. Proper Warm-Up: Our instructors typically lead warm-ups to prepare dancers’ bodies for the dance sessions.

5. Age-Appropriate Classes: We group students by age and skill level to ensure they are learning at an appropriate pace and practicing movements that are suitable for their physical development.

6. First Aid Kit: A well-equipped first aid kit is always on hand with our staff.

7. Emergency Procedures: All of our Studios have established emergency procedures in place, including evacuation plans and communication protocols in case of emergencies.

8. Hydration: Instructors encourage dancers to stay hydrated during classes. Students are not allowed to enter the class without a water bottle.

9. Parental Consent: We require a parental consent and a release of liability to ensure that any underlying health conditions or allergies are known and accounted for.

10. Our instructors frequently use hand sanitizer. We strongly advise against students attending class if they have a cold or flu.

Do you offer private lessons?

To inquire about private lessons, please call our corporate office 305-305-0076.

How often do I pay tuition?

For your convenience, tuition is a one time payment per 3 month for both our pee wee and beginner classes. For advanced crew classes, parents pay once every two months session. Tuition is always due 10-12 days before the new session begins. We also offer a one time full year payment, where parents pay the entire year in advance for a discounted rate.
